“The Art of Stillness: Adventures in Going Nowhere.” by Pico Iyer.

This week I have been reading “The Art of Stillness: Adventures in Going Nowhere.” By Pico Iyer. This was published by TED and I’m just listening to his Ted talk.

I understand that stillness and focus is an important aspect of developing resilience and flexibility; that stillness is an important aspect of our lives becoming sustainable and beautiful. Sitting still, with our devices off is an important “thing to do”.

Pico’s book is a short meditation on stillness. Better than the TED talk, the book includes photography by Eydis Einarsdottir. Her work expresses the light and landscape, the space of the land and water; and the beauty of her native land. Her photographs still the heart and focus the soul. Beautiful.

This is a light book. It is worth reading. Then put it down and go outside and breathe the clear evening air. Be still.
