Sarah’s Garden

The photograph is precious.

Last weekend my daughter (10 years old) asked if she could have a plot for a garden – grow peas, a few mini-cabbages and broccoli. Of course, the answer was yes. I dug up the ground. And Sarah and a friend planted.

I am pleased at so many levels: I’m passing on the passion for gardening, and I love that. And it is wonderful to welcome my daughter to the community of gardeners. And, of course, gardens are a strong step to sustainability and they are beautiful.
