India plans ‘safer’ nuclear plant powered by thorium | Environment | guardian.co.uk.

I think we need to carefully consider all of our options moving forward.  One of these is nuclear power.  This looks like a sensible approach.  Small sealed nuclear power units seem a sound idea to me; after-all, we could consider this an upscale nuclear medical source safely used world wide every day.  In my view, the problems of poorly designed generation one and two nuclear power plants are not reason to ignore the potential solutions offered here.  And I am a romantic, if we are to reach the stars we will need concentrated energy sources so we will need to keep developing them.
